The Centre for Biological Control and Plant Growth Promotion (BioPROMO) was established in 2022 with the aim ofbringing together researchers from the Faculty of Biology into a group that will contribute to meeting global goals on the path towards the "One Health" concept.

Our long-standing experience in studying the diversity and function of microbiomes in various environments gives us the confidence to address at least some aspects of the connection between soil, plant and human microbiomes, and to apply these findings in practice. We have set before ourselves the challenges of researching and applying microorganisms to help solve some of today’s global problems, while also promoting knowledge transfer and communication with the wider community. Achieving these goals should contribute to the development of the BioPROMO Centre into a Centre of Excellence.

The Centre follows current scientific advances in the design and application of biological products, offering potential users the possibility of a personalised approach.
